Integrated Pre-Separators
The integrated pre-separators are used for the pre-separation of particles from the flue gas after biomass firing and can be integrated into the APFenergySmartFilter™, APFenergyTowerFilter™ and APFenergyCeramicFilter™ filter series.
The dust separated in the pre-separators can be discharged together or separately from the separated filter dust. We offer pre-separators in integrated impact separator and integrated cyclone versions. The APF integrated cyclone has already won international awards.
Integrated impact separators
The integrated impact separator for fine dust filters works according to the principle of inertia and is flown through both in filter operating mode and in filter bypass operating mode. The dust-laden exhaust gas flow enters the impact separator module horizontally in the upper third and hits a vertical baffle plate. This forces the flow to change direction. Due to the significant reduction in velocity, coarse dust particles can no longer follow the exhaust gas flow due to their mass and inertia and fall into the dust hopper. The remaining exhaust gas flow is directed into the filter module.
Integrated Cyclone
In the integrated cyclone separator designed as a multi-cyclone, the dust-laden flue gas from the biomass furnace is introduced tangentially into the cyclone. The taper of the cone increases the rotational speed so that the particles are thrown against the cone wall by the flow force and slowed down to such an extent that they are released from the gas flow and separated from it into the cyclone hopper.
Benefits of the Integrated Pre-Separators
-
through integration into the filter: minimisation of the enclosed space and thus of the construction costs
-
increase of filter efficiency and reduction of maintenance costs
-
by integration into the filter: use of the radiant heat of the pre-separators to increase the operating temperature at the filter and thus minimise condensation
-
increase of the availability (filter duty cycle) by heating the filter components
-
reduction of energy costs for trace heating
-
minimisation of the risk of corrosion
-
always in operation, even during filter by-pass
-
can be combined with the APFenergySmartFilter™, APFenergyTowerFilter™ and APFenergyCeramicFilter™ filter series.
